So, i've been using an old core 2 duo with 4gbs of ram. I finally just ordered a 2500k with 8gbs of ram @ 1600, i was wondering would it be worth me buying another 5770 to crossfire it? I don't know if it's my old core 2 build, but it can't really handle the new dx11 update for crysis 2 on the lowest setting. It's pretty much unplayable.

So should i buy another or should i sell it and buy a different card all together? I wanna be able to play crysis 2 and battlefield 3 when it comes out at a ok framerate.

240$ max, i'd rather just spend the 112$ on a new 5770 though if it'd be worth it.

Were you telling me to buy a different 5770 or to buy the same exact 5770 i have now?

Because i have a vaporx now and was going to buy another, the same exact model etc

something must be bottlenecking your rig.I have a gtx 275 and a core i7 870 and I have maxed out the game even with the latest patch and high rez textures and get a minimum fps of 30.On low I get 80-90 fps.Your core 2 duo is bottlenecking in crysis 2 since its very cpu dependandt

It prob is the core 2 as it's usally at 98% load when i play it. My new 2500k comes today and my new mobo comes tomorrow then all i have to do it order the ram and ill test it out with the new setup ill prob end up buying the extra 5770 anyway for battlefield 3

Oh, one last thing. Do you guys think that this older psu will handle the crossfire?

I bought it a few years back for my core 2 build and still working great. I don't really want to buy a new one so if it can't handle it then im prob just gonna stick with the one 5770 for now.

If you just need to boost your performance levels to 5850 levels get the GTX 460 1GB for $150 and overclock it. CF 5770 would probably be underutilized with a slow processor. The 460 will probably be underutilized but it would be a huge boost for BF3. If you're going to upgrade your whole computer I'd suggest a much better card.

I meat buy another Vapor-X
However, now that I though about it,

This would be a better choice
GTX460 1GB USD150, USD 120 after rebate

Agreed this is a much better way to spend your money but for 240 if you want to blow the wad.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

sell the 5770 for 70 or 80 bucks and call it a win

there is a cheaper diamond version but I saw some complaints about Ram syncs

personaly I would by a Diamond because they are old and I am also old.
