Window xp not on hard drive - computer will not start

Hello, I cannot get into my windows xp program....it doesn't start at all on my presario pc. it states that it is not on my hard drive even though i tried to reinstall it from a cd I had made when i first got the computer years ago. Apparently, it was not all that was needed on the computer to get it to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am using a laptop to ask this question...but I really need my old computer to work because of its xp features and the floppy disk in the tower, etc. thanks for any help.

  1. Just to start off, if you need to, there are external floppy drives you can hook up to your laptop. Just an FYI if needed.

Okay so you made a copy of windows xp onto a CD? (You said you tried to reinstall it from a "CD I HAD MADE" when i first got the computer)
