CPU Temp increase

Hey all,

I have a Asus P6X58D-E mb, core i7 950, 12 gb of corsair dominator ddr 3 1600, running 2x GTX 580 in sli. It's all in a HAF X case, with all fans, and a CM Hyper 212 plus CPU cooler.

I am getting ready to try my first OC. So, today I replaced my XFX 850W Black edition, with the new XFX 1250W.

My cpu idle temp jumped up about 8C. It used to run idle at 24C now I am running idle at 32C.

Is this normal? If not, and ideas about what happened? Also, is this new idle temp a normal operating temp for that chip?

Don't be worried about 32c. I had an i7 920 at 90c briefly for testing; that you should worry about. The max temp recommended by Intel for your cpu is 72.6c. Overclocking increases the temp of any cpu, and yours is still running cool.

I havn't overclocked it yet. Just replaced the PSU
