In absolute terms the 465 is a decent card that performs really well especially overclocked. Relative to the 460 it uses much more energy and performs about the same for the same price. Only get a 465 if it's a great sale.
on newegg 465 looks to be like $100 less than the 460. and that kinda seems strange to me.
i have a geforce 8400 gs right now and it's not that bad but i completely hate when my games lag. i really need a new gfx for the witcher 2 and deus ex 3
Last time I checked the 460 1GB was $150, the SE was $130, and the 768 was $145.
The 465 should be somewhere between the SE and the 768 in pricing.
Depending on what resolution monitor you have you might want to get something more powerful if your system can support it for Witcher 2, which is terribly coded. Or just turn off ubersampling and AO.
You're probably not going to do much with that system anyways. Pop it open and look at the PSU. I bet it's a 300W Enermax in which case the best video card for the PSU and processor is probably the GTS 450/HD5770
got a 300w. i want a card worth the money but i want it to last for a bit. i saw that the hds run cool. i want to last about a year or hopefully more @ at least medium settings but i cant afford a monster
HD 5770 should last you a while and is probably the most powerful card you can use with that PSU. For lower resolutions like 1366x768 it's more than sufficient to run games at high settings.
