http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261222-31-build-advic... <---- Seeing how I don't see a psu in any of those builds (no psu how to guess what vid card???) no h/d, burner, case, etc... who can say what build is best? No info, no educated guess. It's like shooting in the dark trying to say what build is best.

I can say this much, any AMD BD build isn't going to stand up to the Intel build imo, especially with Ivy Bridge coming out in the spring and the fact these 1155 boards support that cpu not forget PCI-3.0 support that comes with Ivy Bridge and those Asrock Gen3 boards.

he took out the psu's in all the builds for some reason
August 31, 2011 8:57:22 AM

my build would be better with a x4 965 and a radeon 6950 then it would be in there league
August 31, 2011 9:19:37 AM

Well, we all posted complete builds for him at first on another thread. He already has a CM 850W PSU, Case, HDD, Optical Drive etc. So he asked us to post a build consisting just a CPU, MoBo, RAM and GPU. He got 4 builds on that thread and created this poll for others opinions about those 4 builds. His main aim is to play BF3 @ 1080p @ highest details.

Read my first post on this thread. Nobody can give an honest vote without knowing the details.

Hello everyone I Was thinking about Building a new computer the most cost effective way i can so it can run the highest setting of the new Game Battlefield 3 with no lag or problems.

So far what i have that's most likely gonna stay is the 850w power supply and the case

Case:http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=2908
Psu:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I figured i could for sure keep the case and the psu since i could save some money without effecting the way the game would be run xD

Specs of my pc at the moment are:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz

Processor cooling fan: http://www.directron.com/rrcchl9u1gp.html

RAM: 4.00 GB (i believe its ddr2)

Windows 7 64-bit Operating System

Mother Board: Asus P5N-T Delux http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/I [...] NT_Deluxe/

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 http://www.nvidia.com/object/produ [...] 80_us.html

Anyways im not that great at computers so i was wondering if you guys could help me out on what i should get or if i should start over with a new system entirely i am on a budget at the moment but im just looking for some ideas on what i would need to increase or change out.

on a budget of about 1000$

When my budget was 600 i had a guy reply with this which i was considering but im looking for some other ideas
Cool, here is what I would get:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3

CPU: i5 2500K

video card: PNY GTX 560 Ti

Ram: if your current ram isn't DDR3, the G.Skill 2x4GB 1333MHz Sniper set is a good choice.

I also have a friend that can get me a deal on intel cpu's so i may be able to get a better one even though it could put me over my 1k$ limit xD

Thanks.

so everybody should be clear about the details...

See this guide to get an idea of how various nvidia cards will run with BF3:

http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/battlefield-3-be...

See this preview to see how current CPU's perform:

http://www.techspot.com/review/448-battlefield-3-beta-p...

My advice... go for an i5 2500k. Whether or not bulldozer is gunna be phenomenal, Intel has the most consistent track record with their platforms since 2006 and the 2500k will perform beautifully in BF3. The 2600k clearly serves no immediate benefit in this case either. For a video card, get a superclocked GTX 560ti.. it will get just a few less fps than the GTX 570 but you can save about $100. If you refer to the first guide, you'll see that if you SLi the 560 you're going to destroy a single 580... and that's not taking into account I've recommended a superclocked 560ti. Those are my 2 big suggestions, everything else doesn't really matter. Just get a quality z68 board, 8GB RAM, 750w power supply (for future SLi) etc
