Hello there! I just finished building my new computer, however now I have a problem. First I booted the computer everything worked fine except the display, I didn't get any video. Turns out I forgot to plug in the CPU-connector (oops!). Anyway my motherboard have a 8-pin and my atx have 4-pin so I checked the manual and plugged it in like it said. However now the computer won't even boot up. I don't understand what I did wrong. Surely forgetting that cannot be so critical? I don't know what to do. Help!

Here is my relevant spec:

ASRock Z77 EXTREME4, ATX
Intel Core i5 3570K 3,4Ghz (Ivy Bridge)

Thanks!

What power supply do you have?

It should have one of the two (or both):
1 x 4+4 Pin ATX12V / EPS12V
1 x 8 Pin EPS12V

If it has an 8-pin that matches the pattern on the CPU connector, plug that in.
If you're only using a 4-pin plug, it's not the right one.

I'm guessing you're using the integrated graphics on the 3570K? What connection are you using to the monitor? If you're trying to use HDMI, you might try VGA at first just until you get the right drivers installed.
