Bought my phone, do I have to tell Cingular?

cingular or any other operator does not need to know which handset you
are using. If they really want to they can tell which handset you are
using from the handset's broadcasting the IMEI when you make calls,
but that's it. You can switch handsets 20 times a day and it won't
make one wit of difference to cingular.

Only if you see the no service message on your phone and then maybe the GAIT
phone will work.

I have a bag of phones most of the time they all work, a few times none
work. The GAIT Cingular phone and the Verizon with amps backup work the best
off road.
