Forum Systems : New Build First Time Builder Looking for Help

Hello,
I've always been a gamer but have never had a system powerful enough to run even older games at high or ultra high settings and I finally decided to spring for a new desktop. I have been looking into parts but everywhere I look different components are discussed. Some people like the AMD Phenom sic core and quadcore processors and others say get a sandy bridge. Cananyone post a build in the $800 range (I can spend a bit more if necessary) and tell me why they would get those parts? Include everything from cases to how much RAM I would need if you can. I want something that will run pretty much any game on high settings without any problems. Thanks!!

The Sandybridge architecture is far superior to the current AMD lot; in fact the Sandybridge even kills the older i7 line of Intel processors. But in order to get you good advice you should go here http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] leshooting and here http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] ild-advice
