Is this a decent gaming rig and is it good for it's price?

Planning on building my own gaming PC (First time builder).
Here are the specs.

Case: [...] 6811119203

Power Supply: [...] 6817339036

Operating System: [...] 6832116986

MOBO: [...] 6813131657

CPU: [...] 6819103849

Graphics Card: [...] =A271-6872

RAM: [...] 6820104262

All the rest like hard drive, monitor, mouse, keyboard, ETC i already have.

Is everything compatible with each other? Do you suggest something else? Should I change anything?

Thanks guys

BTW, I didn't really know what category this thread is meant to be in so forgive me for that D:.

More about decent gaming good price
  1. How come all the links broke?
  2. dunno. can help when they break to put the name of the product on the line above
  3. Mobo: ASUS M4A88T-M AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

    CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX

Oh and Btw my budget is 700-800 Dollars
  4. ok.

With Bulldozer shipping this week, and due for commercial release in 3 weeks, I'd avoid both the 880 and the 1090t. Go with a Phenom II X4 955, or even an Athlon II X4 640, depending on how soon you want to get bulldozer

get a 970 or 990 motherboard to be ready for bulldozer, or just wait for it in the first place.

don't get an hec power supply. Antec, Corsair, XFX, Xigmatek, SeaSonic, between 400 and 600W with 80+ Bronze cert is a better choice. 550-650 if you want crossfire.
  5. Antec EarthWatts EA750 750W Continuous Power ATX12V version 2.3 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

Is this a better choice for the Power Supply?
  6. I agree with screwy......not the power supply you want. It's a key component, and going with a cheapo brand leads to trouble. Corsair, Antec, and Seasonic are good choices.
  7. Yes, that Antec is a way better choice than the hec.
  8. After I typed a nice reply while this was in the CPU section they moved it and it wouldnt post.

This is not a good build.
Dump the hec PSU. Get somethng good like corsair builders series.
Dump the 1090T. if you're willing to spend that much money and can't wait to see how BullDozer performs then get the i5-2500k which means dumping the motherboard you had picked out. You will need a p67 or Z68 to OC that i5.
On the ram, stick with 1.5V stuff. Mushkin has some cas7 stick for less but that blue kingston you picked out stuff comes in 1.5v flavor also.
  9. AMD Phenom II X4 980 Black Edition Deneb 3.7GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor HDZ980FBGMBOX

I've decided im going to buy this CPU.

And what is this BullDozer you guys are talking about ? ;0
  10. bulldozer is the codename for the new AMD cpu's coming out.
  11. It's not gonna be cheap is it?
  12. Well anyways, I've calculated the total, and it totally fits my budget, I might even be able to get a better graphics card with that spare 50 bucks.

    I'm soooo excited xD!!
  13. I also agree with pop, that if you can squeeze it in, go with an intel core i5-2500k is the best deal in a gaming cpu today, and outperforms $1000 core i7 extreme cpu's in gaming.
  14. Sounds good. Glad you found a setup you like on-budget. The only real problem was the power supply, and you fixed that, so grats on the new PC build :)
  15. Hm. It does go over my budget, but I "MIGHT" be able to...
  16. Well, Thanks all! Btw, if you know a game called league of legends, Would I be able to run it at max settings (Not including Resolution) with it having a stable 40 FPS and up?

If you don't know League Of Legends, then never mind ;p
  17. easily, the GPU matters more than CPU and a 6870 should crunch any MMO on the market.
  18. all right thankssssssssssss
  19. Wow just effing great, see I'm 15 and my dad PROMISED to buy me this rig, now like always, he, at the last second says no. you dont know how fking pissed i am. And i cant buy it myself, cause I dont have a job and dont get allowance. I only get like 10 bucks every 2 weeks or something -.-.
