I get sounds from Quicked and Microsoft Word but no sounds from other Windows functions such as Recycle Bin etc etc.

LeRoy,
Left click your START button and select CONTROL PANEL. When Control
Panel opens, scroll down to SOUNDS and AUDIO DEVICES and LEFT click it.
When the window opens, click on the SOUNDS tab at the top and then scroll
down thru the list and ANY item that does not have a little picture of a
speaker
in front of it will not play an event sound... To add the sound to the item,
click the
item name to highlight it and then click BROWSE and select the sound you
want
for the event.. You can also add your own custom sounds from any .wav file
by
adding them to the MEDIA folder in EXPLORE or just navigate to the folder
that you have saved the sound you want to use.
HTH..

Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices. Change your settings there.

I am having the same problem. When I go to the sounds control panel. The
sounds are selected to play with the events & the preview sound button works.
However it does not work when I am actually using the cpu?

Any other ideas on a fix?

thanks
E
