hi guys!

just wanted to ask if the temps on my stock i5-2500k is normal?

i havent tried OCing since i dont have a P67/Z68 board yet.

im still using my H61 board right now, w8ing for the budget to get a decent P67/Z68 board.

tested using Intel Burn Test v2.52 (10 runs/standard settings)

AMBIENT TEMP: 31c-33c (philippines)

LOAD: 61c-62c (HW Monitor)
LOAD: 63c-65c (CoreTemp)

im using a CoolerMaster V8 paired w/ a CoolerMaster R4 fan (2000RPM/90CFM)

airflow is not an issue since im using a tech station (open air chassis)

already reseated the cpu cooler twice and still same results.

so my question is, what if im gonna OC the procie? what temps should i expect from it?

is it still advisable to OC the procie w/ these temps? 4.5ghz would be fine on 24/7 use ryt?

thanks in advance guys! :wahoo:

Your temperatures are not outside of the norm. With the stock cooler on an Intel® Core™ i7-2600K I would be running in the mid 30s on idle. Now with Cooler Master hyper 212+ I am running low 30s on idle and mid to high 50s under a normal load. If you want to see if you can improve it a little bit see if you can fold a piece of cardboard to make a little ducking to help funel the air over the HSF better but your temperatures are not something to be concerned over.

i was able to figure out what the problem is. it seems that the auto vcore setting in bios was so high. so i manually lowered it down to -.250vcore and its much cooler! in fact its 6c-7c cooler compared to the auto vcore setting.

LOAD: 56c (HW Monitor)
LOAD: 58c (CoreTemp)
