I currently have a MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum (Socket type AM2/AM2+) with a old AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ processor. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU and eventually get a new board/ddr3 memory along with it.

Would this board be able to use a Athlon II x4 645, FX-4100 Quad Core, or a Phenom II X4 925?

It should be backwards compatible, may require a BIOS update though:

From the compatiability listing I believe the Phenom II X4 925 is your only option:

Hope that helps!

If I were you I would just save up for an AM3+ mobo (40-60 bucks) and get the Phenom cpu and/or upgrade when AMD releases Piledriver which might be AM3+ compatible.
