System Not Recognising Memory.

Welcome, Newcomer! If you have 32-bit XP, then you won't be able to use more than 3.75GB (typically less than 3.5 GB). This is an architectual limitation built in to the operating system.

On the other hand, if you're using a 64-bit XP, then we've got a problem. If this is indeed your problem, try the following:

1. Remove all RAM modules, then reinstall them one at a time. Be sure to check the motherboard manual for single module placement. If they all work, this will rule out defective modules.

2. Make sure you have identical RAM modules (same voltage, frequency, and timing).
