Invalid Format when starting PC Game on HDTV

Hello,
Everythin works great until i go to start the game (BB2 and Sniper) although it loads fine, and even did a few gig update, when starting to "plaY" it goes dark and shows "invalid format"

What is the display resolution of the HDTV?

What is the game's display resolution set to? Is it a resolution that can't be handled by the TV?
