HP ProBook (i3 vs. i5)

Here’s one more. I’m looking at the HP ProBook 4530s (XU015T#ABA) or (XU018UT#ABA). These look like the basically same machine except for the processor (i3-2310 vs. i5-2410); however, the cost difference is $180. Is the i5-2410 worth it?

Now, how about comparing either of these to the HP Pavilion dv6t Select Series? The Pavilion cost about $250 more than the ProBook i3; however, it does come with higher screen resolution (1920x1080 vs. 1366x768).

I will use this only for basic computing (word processing, simple spreadsheets, email, web browsing, etc.) – no gaming. Any suggestions?

  1. For basic computing definitely go with the one with e i3 processor. The computer will work just as fast as the other one you listed. The screen resolution is fine.
  2. Very good - thank you,
