As you've probably guessed, this isn't really a troubleshoot nor problem, more-so a question:

I've seen the motherboard names: "Z68" and "Z77" and was unsure to what they meant. Are they the names of chipsets in motherboards or what?

I have also noticed that both "Z68" and "Z77" -titled motherboards both support socket LGA1155 CPUs, which has caused me to think that any Z'xx' motherboards all support LGA1155 CPUs much like a generic branding.

But to my disbelief other namings such as "C216" and "B75" also support LGA1155 CPUs.

So these are really confusing me, what do they mean?

All these questions are for self-gain, and I feel I will never understand these things without asking questions.

-Thanks (:

"Z68" is older then "Z77", I bought a gaming motherboard with the "Z77".
Other people will certainly add more details about it.
