Hello everyone.

I've had an Antec 300 case for some time now, and I have been running it using just the two pre-installed fans it has come with; Antec Tricool 120mm and Antec Tricool 140mm. There is space to install three more 120mm fans, so I'm looking for some advice for which ones to go for. I'm hesitating on getting any more tricool fans, they seem fairly loud even on the lowest setting, and over the summer I struggled in keeping the system cool. If it makes any difference, these three fans are going to be blowing air into the case.

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to change out the two pre-installed fans? If so, what 140mm fan would you recommend?

FINALLY, After doing some spring (more like winter) cleaning inside my case, I noticed that the PWR_Fan and SYS_FAN headers on the MOBO have nothing connected to them, and there are no 'spare' wires that would fit onto them. Is this normal?

Thanks.

Hi thank you for your reply!

I checked out the speed switcher on my Tricool's and they were set to medium... put them down to low and I was pleasantly suprised! Think I will go with some more of them for now. If the cooling isn't sufficient then I may try out the Enermax fans you listed. I shouldn't need to though; playing BF3 with a GTX260 and a AMD 955.

Just to confirm, it is ok to plug chassis fans into the PWR_FAN header? I've read elsewhere that you can't and I just want to make sure! :)

Thanks.

Yep the Antec fans are fine on low imo,i've been using mine like that for over 2yrs.
I suggested the Enermax fan because they're nice = what i'll replace my Tri-Cools with when they die.
I use the medium setting once in while for summer temps and gaming sessions.
Yep feel free to use your mobo fan headers if need be.= PWR_Fan is fine to use(back in the day it was used for some psu's that required it for fan operation)
