Building my first pc today, need ongoing help

All my part arrived today and im very excited to get started

Ive installed the cpu and ram and have already come across 1 problem

Its re the standoff holes for the motherboard and case

10 are normal brass + 2 are similar but have an extra little bit of thread on top??

On the case i just see the letter A to L

Im not sure where they all go

Manual are no help

in the manual it says

10 x Stand - off

2 x Stand Off - hole - fix


any ideas ???

use the regular standoffs. You'll use from 6-10 of them depending on your motherboard size.
when you put the motherboard in, the holes in it will line up with holes in the case. thats where the standoffs go.

ok cool thanks, ive placed the 9 regular shaped stand offs in the holes.

My motherboard only requires 6 , ill just keep the extra 3 in there, they arent doing any harm.

Well that was actually quite a doddle, its all running and ive just installed windows 7

Can i now start to OC or should i get everything installed first, like all my programs etc?

I'd get everying updated and get your OC test programs

Yes. Update everything and install all the drivers before you start overclocking.
