Building a new system (i7-2600k, ASUS P8 Z68-V Pro). The board has an 8-pin EATX12V. I was planning on plugging an 8-pin connector from my power supply there, but this video suggested only using a four pin connector (go to 1:04):

Should I be using the 8-pin or 4-pin? I will be doing some slight overclocking and don't want to compromise the system.

Thanks

Use the 8pin! If somebody is using 4 then they do not have 8!

Thanks! 8-pin it is. Just didn't want to overpower the 2600k somehow...

The CPU will draw what it needs, you can not overpower it!

The 4 should only be used if ya don't have the 8 pin EPS connector.
