Will mobo support GPU?

Hi, thinking of upgrading my GPU from a gtx460 to a gtx580, my mobo is not the greatest..M5a78L. Just been looking at the specs for it on ebuyer and came accross "Max Allocated RAM Size
1 GB". The gtx580 is 1536mb, is this relevent? sorry for being a bit of a thicky
other PC specs are..
Phenom black 965
win7 64
8gb dominator ram
850wt antec PSU

The ASUS M5A78L - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78L/#specifications is fine, and the only 'bottleneck' (limitation) is the CPU on some games.

Yep, some games can be bottlenecked (limited) by <2GB of vRAM with very high details and high e.g. AA.
