Is 500W enough for this PC?

AMD Athlon II x4 640 - 3.00GHz
4GB Patriot DDR3 1333
HD6450 1GB
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
Seagate 500GB Sata II 7200
LiteOn iHAS324 SATA RW, Burner
Antec 300 Case
Corsair 500CX - 500W

Will I need more than 500W?

More about 500w
  1. more then enough, you won't break 200w with that set up.
  2. This is a nice online tool for calculating power needs for your PC, with plenty of variable options. Keep in mind that its not exact, but should give you a close approximation.

  3. The other thing to keep in mind is that you want some headroom in wattage. Cheaper PSU's can wind up producing a lot fewer watts than they say (I had a 700W PSU that burned out after less than a year, when the max power load for my system was around 625W). The better the PSU, the less headroom you need.
  4. No worries with that psu and specs!
