Hello,

I currently just finished a new build, and I am having issues getting my current mobo to detect all 8g of ram. Windows is only seeing 4 and I have no idea where to start in diagnosing this issue. Iv read issues specific to the motherboard, but it could be something else.

Mobo: ASUS Rampage IV Gene LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Where should I start?

Ok, we don't currently care what Windows sees, lets worry about what your motherboard sees in the bios.

You could start by making sure your PC is running a 64-bit version of a Windows product greater than XP Home! ;)  Windows 32-bit can only address 4GB of RAM.
