Found this today.. is this a good start for the price? Or could I do better.. I want to build a new machine 800-1k range.. would this be a good combo then all I would need is a gpu and HSF? Is this case okay? (which?) Is this combo future proof a bit?

I like it. I was going to get the same thing, actually, but I decided to go another route because of budget. What sort of budget after that do you have for your graphics card?

Forgot to add that I'll probably be using my old monitor - Acer AL2223W LCD

I am not sure though that it goes beyond 1680x1050 or if that is my current video card restricting it (HD 4850)

according to the specifications tab on the newegg link for your monitor, 1680x1050 is the maximum that the monitor will display.

As long as you don't plan on overclocking it the case should be fine. If your buying this for gaming the onboard graphics will really limit what you can do with it.

Yeah, the case in this is the only thing I kind of am not happy with... I would of course get a GPU as well in the 300-500 dollar range.. I'm just nervous with buying this combo b/c it isn't EXACTLY what i'd want.
