How to bypass power on button on pc

My computer will not power on when I press the power button. The green light to the power button flashes when plugged in though. Is there a way to bypass the power button and turn on the computer? M2N68-LA mother board in an HP

You can disconnect the power switch lead to the motherboard and touch the pins with a screwdriver, but that's not a long term solution. Your problem is either with the power supply or the motherboard, unless you broke a wire on the power switch lead.
