300 dpi versus 600 dpi print setting--how much cost savings?

Help! I've been looking everywhere to get an answer to this question. Does anybody know for sure (other than anecdotal stories)that 300 dpi draft mode printing of documents saves money--on ink and toner--without shortening the life of the printer? I'm trying to do find a cost benefit analysis. Denise

wtf.... without shortening the life of the printer? you will save money using draft mode because you will save on ink, the life of the printer will be the same unless your printing in draft then the same document again in normal (but doing this would also negate the cost benefit)
