Hi everyone, newbie here.

I am looking to buy for my son's computer, a video card with HDMI output.

The computer is an Imedia 1508/2 and it has a PCI-E GeForce 7300GT - 256Mb with DV output.

I believe that the FSP250-60Gen Power unit only outputs 250W or it could be 115W, not sure.

I think I have spotted that some HDMI PCI-E cards need 400W etc...

So , does anyone know of the best low cost HDMI PCI-E that will be ok with this power supply and enhance his video editing experience.

I am also upgrading his Motherboard memory to 4Gb from his measly 256mb DDR2 stick he has now. But I got that covered with Crucial and ebay......

Yours sincerely
Joe

What are the other things your son has in his system, cpu, fans etc. And which ddr2 sticks are you going to use, you might want to get lower voltage ones.

That power supply only has 22amps available on the 12vrails. 1@8amp and 1@14amps.
For video editing a fast processor and lots of ram is what is important. The memory upgrade will make a world of difference.
You did not state what software he is using for the editing. So a video card upgrade may be a waste of money if his software can not take advanage of it.
