when i first inserted the card it was working fine but when i restarted the computer after the win xp loading the screen goes black and stays like this (note:i didnot installed the drivers)i also changed some start up settings it was on system and i changed it to automatic i think that might be the prob if any one knows do tell me

What output are you using? Try using another output. If the thing boots, you can also try going into safe mode and uninstalling any display drivers

well my output cable i vga but i use a dvi converter i dont think theres any prob in the converter because i used it on another card and it works fine well i go into safemode but the pc also stucks over there

If your 2400 has two DVI ports then try using the other DVI port.

i have already used the both ports but none of them fixes the prob

Well, if you see a proper display during POST try booting into safe mode and removing the display drivers. If you can't see anything in safe mode then either your Win XP installation is damaged (which is most likely) or it's possible the card itself cannot display VGA resolution and may be damaged. The easiest thing to do is to try the card in another computer or try a different card in that computer before you go around formatting.
