Help please with 2 questions .

Here is my setup i5 650, 14gigs of DDR3 ram, 1tb hdd (not a ssd), msi 6950 vga, bfg 550 watt psu. My first question is this cpu/gpu combo causingme to bottleneck?

I ran 3dmark 11 and only scored in the 4200's while my friend told me most people with the 6950 are running

in the mid 5000's. If i decide to upgrade the cpu is there any for the 1156 lga socket worth buying or should i wait till i have the

cash and go with a i5 2500k and new 1155 mobo? Or am I fine where I am even though the 3d mark tests are below the norm.

I have a 1080p display and want to get the most out of my graphics card that I can. Please let me know

I would say that the Intel® Core™ i5-650 maybe holding you back if the application does take advantage of 3 or more threads. So you might find that the Intel Core i5 760 would answer some of your problems or the Intel Core i7-875K but the real problem with spending any money on these processors is that they are all discontinued or will be in the short term over spending money on the Intel Core i5-2500K.
