to play games such as;

Portal 2
HAWX 2
F1 2010
Dirt 3
BBC2
and future high-end gaming titles!

CURRENT GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT220
Power supply: Stock PSU with a Max. output of power of 330 W ( i have a feeling that is NOT enough)

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @2.50 Ghz
Motherboard: Fujitsu D2950-A1
Chipset: Nvidia GeForce 7100 Rev A2
Graphic interface: PCI Express (x16)
Memory: 2x2Gb (4Gb) DDR2 PC2-6400 @400Mhz

Case is not too big, it looks more like a medium sized one.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Any that supply to Denmark (North Europe)
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Denmark

PARTS PREFERENCES: none, whichever is best.

OVERCLOCKING: not required but no preference.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

Additional Comments:

Does processor need to be overclocked?
if so, then do I need a fan? as my current fan is a crappy stock fan?

I'm not even playing a game just using the internet and the temp is already at 75C?

would I need cooling too? or is that incorporated within the GPU?
is it worth investing in this CPU or is it just better to build one from scratch, with a better case, cooling, cpu, psu and graphic card?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE! :D

DDR 2 6400 memory is at 800Mhz(400CPUZ).

It's like this, can you afford to buy a new PC? It's not that your CPU is not good, it's just not fast enough. You would need to overclock the CPU and on that motherboard i do not see how.

If you can, sell the PC to rise part of the money or give it to someone who needs it, or keep it for media play..etc.

A new PC should consist of a 2500k CPU, 4Gb or RAM and at list a gtx560ti or 6950.
A good 650w PSU for single video card or higher for 2 video cards. Also the motherboard should be at list a P67 chip set to be able to overclock the CPU after 1-2 years when new hardware appear.

If you can't do that, a 6850/6870/gtx460/5850 video card will suffice for now.

If let's say you can rise some money but don't want to wait, buy a 560ti or 6950 and a 650w quality PSU now and buy the rest of the components when you have the money.

For £370 you could get yourself a nice build with an i3 and re-use the Gt 220 until you can afford a better GPU, if you manage to sell that PC, you could get yourself a real nice gaming rig with the total sum of money.
