Hello all in Tom's Hardware land. I was wondering if I could outsource an issue to all you good people.
Here's my situation. I recently put together a nice little home theater PC using the ASRock A75M-ITX motherboard. The mobo has two USB 2.0 ports on the back, one of which I use to plug in my wireless mouse and keyboard and the other I use to plug in my Hauppauge external TV tuner. The PC worked well for about two days when I then noticed that while using Windows Media Center to view TV that I had lost the signal and also that the system was not able to take commands from my keyboard and mouse. I figured at that point, "Eh, stuff happens", so I rebooted the system and everything was fine again. However, later that night I noticed I had lost keyboard and mouse input again. It was at this point I tried unplugging the wireless receiver from the rear USB port and plugged the USB receiver into the front USB 2.0 port. I was able to then go to Start>Restart. Everything was fine again. The next afternoon I lost TV tuner connectivity again but not the connectivity of the keyboard and mouse which I had plugged into the front USB port. So once again I restarted the system. Yesterday however I once again loss TV tuner connectivity that was once again remedied by a system reboot. Tonight I now lost both the TV tuner which is plugged into the rear USB 2.0 port and lost keyboard and mouse input which is plugged into the front USB 2.0 port. I also restarted the system, waited, and upon trying to use the computer was once again without keyboard and mouse input. I noticed on Newegg there were a couple of reviews that mentioned issues with USB connectivity. Is there a way to remedy this problem. I tried searching the ASRock website for updated USB drivers but none the drivers seem to be a part of the solution to my problem.
Has anyone else had issues with this motherboard? If so how did you fix it? or..... Does anyone out there have suggestions about what the problem could be?
