Dual Graphics Board Question

I recently inherited by donation 10 excellent Dell Optiplex 745s. They ahd been used in industry and had ATI dual grapuics cards installed. Wiped clean, I am trying to use them at a school. I am not an IT person. I want to install my Windows XP operating system, but can's because the monitor will not read unless I remoive the ATI card. Once the card is removed, the disk will not install form the CR rom drive. Any suggestions?

i suspect the power supply could be the problem

Totally. They are all powered by the 12V rail.
