Looking for a good reliable PSU preferable with an LED light for some visual affect. Here's my setup what amount of watts do you think? OH and trying to keep the PSU under 200, 175 MAX

ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3
i5 2500k
8gb Sniper 1600 Ram
HD Radeon 5970 (requires an 8pin and 6 pin)
24' ASUS monitor
64gb Samsung SSD
2TB Seagate barracuda HDD
Blu ray Optical Drive

Just trying to get a start on picking the PSU. Watts and brands are helpful! Links always appreciated. Im thinking:

Will this be good? Send me some ideas! Thanks

Just stick to Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, or XFX. I guess PC Power & Cooling is amazing if you can find one for a decent price. NEVER buy a Rosewill PSU: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx

If lights are necessary, go with a Kingwin Lazer. You only need a 600W PSU. The Antec Neo Eco 620C that's sometimes $35 after rebate would be plenty.

Did you already buy the 5970?

Anyhow...you can get this PC Power & Cooling 760W--it's overkill, but will handle two 7950's in SLI if you end up upgrading: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0358411

Here's some other choices:

They'll both work with ALL single card configurations, but not all dual card setups.

Ya i already bought the 5970, and they said you should have at least a 650W supply for the card.

If you want lights I think you would have to go with the Corsair Gaming series:

http://www.corsair.com/power-supply-units/gaming-series-power-supply-units/gs800w.html

The great thing about this one is that you can change the color of the LEDs in the PSU from Red, White, & Blue.

They have 600W, 700W, & 800Watt models.

83% of reviewers are giving it 5 eggs on newegg (at least for the 800watt version):

Corsair makes good PSUs.

Jonnyguru has passed two recent Rosewill PSUs, including the Lightning, so don't be so quick to dismiss them anymore over outdated information. Yeah, they used to suck, but they've cleaned up their act. HardwareSecrets passed one of their RG models as well (and has some Hives in for testing!).

just stick to seasonic or corsair or antec. and you cant go wrong, they have proven track record of quality and reliability.
is it worth risking pc to buy any other make?, it's not like they cost much more than other cheapo makes.

What you should worry about is amperage on the +12V rail. A 5970 can draw up to 300W. 300W/12V = 25A. So you'll need 25A on top of what the system needs to run. So 45A should be plenty. An Antec Neo Eco 620C has 48A.
Thanks for that info. I'll update my "NEVER buy a Rosewill PSU" to "never buy a non top brand without a great thorough review for it. Here's an example of a thorough review: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Corsair-TX750M-Power-Supply-Review/1374 ."
