Advice on tuner card

Rebuilding a home pc, uping the power and graphics, and wanting to install a TV tuner card, using windows 7 with a wireless remote. Can someone advise what I should look at, so I can at least get an idea? I didn't see many talking about this at the HTPC area, which I thought would be one of the main components. Are you a cable/satellite subscriber?
If so, do you subscribe to more than the basic subscription (is a set top box required for you to view the channels you subscribe to)?

neither as of now. forgoing card as of now. just gonna get flix of the net. my cpu has onboard graphics. take care
