I recently inherited a TEAC 1220 U reel to reel and know little about it. does it use 1/2 inch tape? any idea of it's worth?

Unfortunately, the unit is very old and it is likely to need a bunch of work to get it going again. I just restored an A1230 which was a little newer. Contact me further directly if you want to proceed with further answers. It is a 1/4" tape machine not 1/2" tape.
