Wireless router question

hi,

currently, i have a wireless-g router that everybody uses in my family cause they don't do things that require a very good internet connection. I however want to build a gaming pc and i want a good connection. I have a wireless-N router that is not hooked up because when i try to hook it up, it causes a lot of trouble and it is very annoying. So here is my question... can i have two routers with one modem and i would be the only one that uses the second router. Heres what it would look like:

motorola router------- wire ---------- linksys wireless-g --------wire----- linksys wireless-n

also what wire would i use to connect the two routers
