I have been having problem with my moniter, a SONY CPD E200.
there are specks on the display, physically on the glass. all attempts (using glass cleaner and alcohol) have failed. i can't tell if they are superficial or actual nicks in then glass but they are definatly on the glass and are quite destracting.
anyone have any ideas?

If the monitor is still under warranty, send it back and have the CRT replaced.

If it's not still under warranty, live with it, so long as the rest of the monitor is ok. CRTs are 2/3 the price of a new monitor.

If you send it back, don't tell them that you cleaned it with alcohol, though. May void your warranty.
