I need to replace my motherboard, but I want to stay with Win XP Pro 32 bit. I think I want to buy a 1155 socket motherboard and a i3 64 bit processor. I assume the processor will just run at 32 bits. Will this arrangement work okay?

Yes the Intel® Core™ i3-2100 will run in a 32bit mode. Just so you know that running Windows XP on any of our "6" series boards the support is AS-IS or We wont be releasing anything else as a driver or compatibility support for it.

The main issue will be finding Win XP drivers for the motherboard you will be using.

Upgrading to Win7 Pro might be a very worth-while consideration.
