Hi,

So I'm planning on buying a new computer. It should be able to handle the good games coming out this year (Red Orchestra, battelfield, mw3 and Skyrim) very well.
I assembled a pc already, but I dont know if all components will work together well or if there are any adjustement I should make. If so, please inform me.

Power supply: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-750 (Retail, 4x PCIe);
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) (Retail, FW, RAID, Gb-LAN, Sound, ATX);
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2600 (Boxed, FC-LGA4, "Sandy Bridge");
CPU cooler: Scythe Yasya SCYS-1000;
Graphics: ASUS EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S (Retail);
RAM: Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit (Light-Retail, CMP8GX3M2A1600C8, Dominator);
HD: Seagate ST1000NM0011 (Bulk, SATA 600, Constellation ES);
Sound: Creative X-Fi Extreme Audio (Retail);
Disk: LG BH10LS (Retail, 5x DVD-RAM);
Tower: Lian Li PC-60FN (Retail);

So if you have any ideas about this, please share them.

Thx

this is great build and it will Max out all games at 1920x1020. I don't know your budget but maybe you could put in a ssd. a nzxt phenom would look cooler than the loan li but that's just an opinion. I don't know if you know this but you're only going to need a aftermarket cooler if you're overclocking.

This is a great build, but the addition of a sound card is not necessary. The MB already has a very good sound card built into it. Save yourself some money and ditch the sound card.

You could save yourself some money and get the i5-2500k which in terms of gaming performs as good as the i7-2600k albeit 2-3 fps.

This would enable you to stick a nice SSD into the build as a boot drive or other :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper-threading

i7 has hyperthreading which games don't use. You would have to be a very heavy user of a lot of programs. In layman's term, better multi tasking than the i5 for an additional $100 dollars!

I would recommend a 64gb boot drive for the OS or if you feel like burning money get a 128gb SSD

The only real advantage of the i7 over the i5 is its ability to encode and render video footage more quickly. Basically if your doing alot of graphic design work, multi-tasking, editing and rendering the i7 is probably the better choice.

Comparison can be found here:
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/288?vs=287

The gaming comparisons are show towards the bottom of the list with only a few fps difference. You would get more performance from getting an i5-2500k and a 6790, than an i7-2600k and a 6950 with both options being around a similar cost.

Thanks for the advice!
I'll also ditch the extra sound card and get a ssd drive. Which actually my basic option anyways :)

But still one more question, the disk station, do i need the BR or should I get a better but only dvd?

You dont "need" a Blue Ray drive, they are still expensive. Give it a bit and they will drop in price. It is still a luxury item, if you want it get it but you do not need it. However you do need a dvd burner(well you dont technically need the burner, only a dvd rom, but they are dirt cheap.)

Hi again,

So I took some of ur advice and I also made some adaptations of my own. I also learned my budget was a bit larger than expected. So this is what I made out of it.

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional;
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2600k;
CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen 3 SCMG-3000;
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-900;
Graphics: SAPPHIRE 2GB D5 X HD6970;
RAM: Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit;
HDD: Seagate ST1000NM0011 (1 TB);
SSD: OCZ AGT3-25SAT3-60G;
DVD: LG GH-22NS30 (X 2);
Case: Antec DARK FLEET 85 (+1 extra Antec TriCool case fan);

I do need to know however if everything is COMPATIBLE, so if someone could plz have a look.

Thx
