Motherboard for a 1155 CPU

Hi,

My freinds is gonna upgrade his CPU soon and I would like to have some help.

I really don't know much about motherboards, I don't understand the huge price difference between a Basic and an asus ROG motherboard.

I want a 1155 motherboard (for an I5 3570k) that costs about 100$

Hey there

I'm going to keep it simple. ROG boards are MAINLY for overclocking. If you aren't going to overclock or even if you're GOING to overclock but just a bit, it'd be stupid to go for an ROG board. But yes, it's the best thing I have ever, EVER used. I have a Maximus V Extreme which is the BEST board I've ever come accross.

Anyway, for about $100CA, you definitely can't get even close to buying an ROG board so forget about that. You'll probably get a H77 board.

Not a board I would go with personally (not very good for overclocking), but on that budget, what else can you do?

I was thinking about the H77's (or even B75's), but since he's getting a 3570K, I didn't want to cripple him by not being able to overclock at all.
