Hey, got a question.

I have an Asus P5l-VM 1394 Socket 775 motherboard, and I have my eye on two processors : The Intel Core 2 Duo E6700, and the E6750.

The E6700 has 2MB cache and 3.2 GHZ per core, whereas the E6750 has 4MB cache with 2.66 GHZ per core.

Which one should I buy? (And would the 6750 even work on my motherboard?) I aim to play games like Skyrim with atleast half-decent graphics and a constant 30+ FPS, and the usual Photoshop/Autodesk Maya project.

Is the E6750 better in performance? I know that GHZ doesn't always = Faster *Stares at Pentium II"

Thanks in advance!

Both CPU's run at 2.66 GHz. The E6700 is 266 MHz X 10. The E6750 is 333 MHz X 8.

I'd choose the 6750 for a non-overclocked system. it would be a little faster, but you probably would not notice.

If I were overclocking, the E6700 with its lower FSB and higher internal multiplier would have the advantage.

Intel actually released a 45nm LGA 775 CPU with the e6700 name that does indeed run at 3.2Ghz. That is by far the best choice.
