So, I was wondering if someone could tell me something.

What can go in a PCI 16x (I mean like PCI 4x, 8x etc)
What can go in a PCI 4x (I mean like PCI 4x, 8x etc)
What can go in a PCI legacy (I mean like PCI 4x, 8x etc)

and all the others.

You maybe confused, if so I will try to clear things up. Thanks :D

The PCI 2.0 are the long slots on a motherboard that accepts graphics cards or other PCI cards. The 16x, 8x, or 4x denotes how much data is being sent through that specific PCI slot when you have multiple graphic cards.

16x is usually for a single graphics card. For two graphic cards, motherboard manufacturers go for different ways to split up the channels such as each PCI slot getting 8x/8x or 8x/4x.
