i know someone who works at a company that does military contracts. he told me about how they had problems with parts coming from china with malware installed in chips. today as i am looking at motherboards and i see MSI boards say made in china (i know big surprise) and i started to think of not buying anything made in china. im sure im being way to paranoid but i have zero trust of any chinese company. anyone have any thoughts?

most computer parts nowandays either come from China, Taiwan or Hong Kong. its near impossible to go through a build where at lest one part was manufactured or designed by a chinese speaking person.

I'd also think there'd be a massive difference between trying to on military parts(I am sure they'd be happy to access military systems/secrets and actively try and do steal things from us) and your motherboard(probably not interested in your family photos and porn collection)

Now that the technology exists, sabotage can come from any direction. I seriously doubt that China is the only nation involved in such activity. I'm still gonna build another new system soon... and am gonna work on designing a method for catching all these jerks in their dirty tricks.
