Advice of Inexpensive HTPC Components

I've been thinking about building a HTPC and would like advice on the least expensive CPU, MB, Memory. I want to also try using Linux operating system with this system. I'm not planning to play games on it....mainly for web browsing and yahoo email at first.
I have a 1080p 46" TV so want to be able to use an HDMI to TV that supports 1920 x 1080 resolution. I posted a similiar thread in the CPU Forum and not seen many suggestions.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Whats your basic budget?

a super inexpensive system *can* be made from a Pentium G/H61 system, or Athlon II/AMD 760 mobo that will do what you need it to do,

the best balanced system is probably a a8 llano build that can do a bit of everything. a Budget of $300 is probably as low as you can go.
