To Remove or not remove the plastic covering on intel Z77 chipset?

Hi there,

I know this may sound stupid but on my motherboard there is a metallic covering on the intel Z77 chipset and it's got a plastic clingfilm type covering on top of it.

Should i remove this because I am tempted to do so? The reason i think it because it will heat up and it will melt the plastic cling film.

I just thought i would clarify this.

you take those fingers and you tear that cling film as hard as you can
and then give me best answer xD

Give in to the temptation and remove it. It's only there to protect the heatsink from being marred during shipping.
