Is the gtx 570 worth it?

My budget is $1100 maximum. I already have chosen all of the parts I want for the build, but I have not yet decided what graphics card I should buy.
I was suggested the gtx 570, but I am wondering if I need it or not.
My mother board is a z68 sli and crossfire ready.
I think I just want to stick it out with one gpu for now but I will add another one in the future.
So should I get the gtx 570? Or is there a better graphics card for around the same price or maybe even less?

You'd be fine with a 6950 2GB. Great performance and offers a higher vram in case you use a higher resolution or eyefinity. If you are running adobe products for work/school that can take advantage of CUDA then go with gtx 570 otherwise you won't see much improvement performance wise. 570 also uses more power and generates more heat.

So what should I do? Buy the gtx 570 evga superclocked or the amd 6950 2gb.
On way or another I will be buying another of the same graphics card some time in the future, I hope.

I think everyone's been saying that yopu should get a 2gb 6950 there buddy..
