Updating bois/ upgrading cpu

Hey guys, So I was looking at my ht-2000 mcp61pm-gm mo bo, and I was reading a lot of threads and discusions on it, and people have been saying that the motherboard could barley run a phenom? and that the wattage use from the cpu couldnt go more then 89% or something. but I currently have a Phenom x4 9750 on the mobo and its running fine? then again here is the other reason im asking for help. the computer was prebuilt by gateway, It was given to me as a gift or trade around 3 years ago? I upgraded the cpu memory and graphic card, but last year the computer started giving me problems, the BSOD   its only been getting worse as time passes, its really weird, I can play bf3, the walking dead, LoL, and a lot more other games but my computer randomly crashes on lower end games like combat arms? I treid replacing parts and it does nothing to help stop the crashes >_< I get this DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL something like that every time :| .. i cant seem to solve this issue. so I came here hope ing to see if some one has a solution.

My specs are Phenom x 4 9750 (2.4 ghz) 8gb of ram at 800mhz ddr2, Radeon HD 6850 1gb ddr5, a regular harddrive runing at 7500 rpm i belive?

the crashing is making me think that its the bios thats out of date or something and thats why it keeps crashing? I dont know for sure but if some one could look into this I would really appriciate it because I am planing to sell this computer to build myself another one.
