New motherboard for AMD Crossfire

Hi all,

Currently looking at a new motherboard for my PC that will allow me to have my two GPU's running at x16/x16, but I'm unsure which of the two I'm looking at would be the best.

I've decided on either of the following:
Gigabyte G1-Sniper3 Motherboard - (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_711_1183&products_id=20171)

or

ASUS Maximus V Formula Motherboard - (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_711_1183&products_id=20927)

I have 2 XFX Radeon 6970 2GB's in Crossfire at the moment, only running at x8/x8 on my current board (ASUS P8P67-PRO).

From the way it reads, it seems that the Gigabyte one will allow me to do that, but the ASUS one will not.

Is this correct? Any other information would be helpful!

Cheers,
Sam

That's correct. The Gigabyte does dual x16, the Asus only does dual x8.
