I have installed my eah6850 but i don't have a spare 6pin plug for the auxilury power. would it be safe to run for the moment without it or will i burn it out or something?
I've heard legends about the card drawing too much power through the PCI bus if you don't connect the auxiliary power, but I don't know if there's any substance to that.
It wont be stable, and the fact that you dont have a 6 pin PCI-E connector tells me your PSU may not be strong enough for it.
It wont burn anything on the card out, but dont expect it to work right, it might throttle down, crash regularly, or artifact. You do run the risk of hurting the PSU if its not strong enough.
