Laptop Heating (2 Cores vs. 4 Cores)

Hi

I am going to be getting a new laptop soon. The laptop I am planning on getting is the Dell Inspiron 15R (N5110). On weekends I usually use the system for around 5 hours without giving it any rest. I usually browse and then watch a movie and then browse some more and listen to some music.

I was wondering whether a quad-core processor (i7 2630QM 2.0Ghz) in the laptop had more chance of over heating then a dual-core processor (i5 2430M 2.4Ghz) in it when used for about 5 hours without rest.

Waiting for a response.

  1. Both should be fine but looking at what you use it for then anything over a dual core is overkill.
