Rebuilding a laptop after a virus hit it

Hello, we have downloaded everything we need to (so i thought) now we are unable to connect to the internet, however we are told we need some type of ethernet driver i have downloaded one but it says we need to connect to the internet which is what we are unable to do...does anyone have any suggestions.really need help..thanks

Well, you won't get a link to your router by wire of you don't have a driver for the specific brand and model of your ethernet adapter so you'll have to download it on a friend's computer and introduce it to yours on a disk or on a memory stick..

You have posted this in the wireless section so perhaps you need a driver for wireless not the wired adapter ? If so perhaps the wired adapter can be used to link to the router.

Try to be more specific so people don't have to guess.
